The “The Penguin” collection was designed in 1953 by Danish designer Ib Kofod-Larsen (1921-2003). When it was launched in the United States, the chair became Kofod-Larsen’s signature. A mid-century masterpiece, this is a classic that is now part of Danish cultural heritage and the history of design. The Penguin s’inspire was inspired by the American modernism of the 1950s and 1960s. Great modernity emanates from this sculptural silhouette and its curving, organic lines.
