The essence of simplicity… Named Designer of the Year at Maison&Objet 2020, Cypriot designer Michael Anastassiades is a fan of the purist approach. Composed of simple geometric shapes, his lights are imbued with a strong sculptural dimension. As evidenced by his incredible Coordinates collection: an assembly of horizontal and vertical light rods. A minimal aesthetic that’s no less spectacular. Reduced to their purest essence, these abstract luminous forms aren’t lacking in physical, sensual and enigmatic presence. The tinted aluminium structure accommodates a flexible LED strip protected by an opaline silicone diffuser. For Michael Anastassiades, it goes without saying that a “light which is only on 20% of the time must be particularly attractive when switched off, interacting through its presence alone with the environment”. This is how he forged his style from simple signs and volumes (a sphere, a line, a triangle…).
