Released in 2022, the SOUL collection is now available in an outdoor version. The Soul Story 1, 2 and 3 wall lights have been developed in white concrete, with IP64 classification. Curious landscapes are revealed outdoors, like reflections of the interior… Born in Beirut in Lebanon, designer Charles Kalpakian draws inspiration from his roots in France and Lebanon, as well as from street-art culture. His projects showcase the rich heritage of his origins, combined with elements of western modernity. His SOUL wall light collection (SOUL standing for Souvenir Of United Lebanon) is a poetic homage to his childhood in Lebanon. Childhood, education, play and dreams: For Charles Kalpakian, Lebanon represented this paradoxic freedom from the ringing of the school bell at the end of the day, running and playing in a city that lay in tatters. These memories have been manifested in the SOUL collection. Narrative elements of a memorial biography, SOUL OUTDOOR is a series of wall lights that are reminiscent of being enveloped by nightfall in a dark little street, suddenly pierced by an ethereal ray of light.Charles Kalpakian: “Each journey has its own “light” for me, as it evokes a place at a given time.
