The Marseille wall light, a design icon created by Le Corbusier, finally reissued! A genius architect and designer, Le Corbusier created the “Cité Radieuse” in Marseille, a residence built between 1945 and 1952. From its conception, this experimental building tried to materialise a new form of city: a “vertical village” called a “Housing Unit”. The Cité Radieuse is today classified as a historical monument. Le Corbusier even designed the lights in the apartments of his “city”. In 1954, he created the Marseille wall light which he had installed in the model apartments to optimise the lighting.Reissued by Nemo, this wall light is a symbol of 1950s modernism. Inspired by the industrial lighting of the time, this wall light has a lampshade made up of two symmetrical cones, providing two types of lighting (direct and indirect).
