The Peka bench has straight and strict lines and a clean and contemporary design, combining softness with the authenticity of a light wood with delicate veins. Made to last, this robust, simple piece of furniture is functionalist in style, typical of Scandinavian design. Its clean lines highlight the exceptional work on the wood: the finish and joinery are very neat. Behind the backrest, a narrow shelf lets you place a book or a glass: it is the ideal place to enjoy a cup of tea or a cool lemonade in good company. The Peka bench is made from FSC-certified (New-Zealand origin) radiata pine. The pine has undergone an Accoya treatment: this altered wood is a leader in terms of performance; it is the ideal wood for outdoor use. No other wood offers the same combination of durability and sturdiness. More resistant than teak, Accoya wood stands up to water, frost, mould, fungi, insects and UV rays. It is the ideal wood for use outdoors. With a sustainable origin and made with the help of a low carbon-emission technology, the Accoya wood actively contributes to a circular and organically-sourced economy. This 100% non-toxic treatment makes it particularly resistant without needing additional treatment, as such keeping the wonderful raw look of the wood over time. Pine grows quickly and its grown in eco-managed forests. This material can be reused and recycled. As it does not need treatment for its protection, it can be used in a raw state. As such, it does not contain any dangerous products which could penetrate the soil and the groundwater. The Peka bench is delivered flat.
