Dutch contemporary artist Tomas Schats is famous for his white, immaculate, ultra-minimalist sculptures. Tomas Schats explains: “In their minimal linearity, these works resemble cartoons, but they are, in their simplicity, more lyrical and more ambiguous, wry, but nevertheless superficial. Chimney, door, windows, nothing is missing from this mini-house in recycled cardboard dressed in cartoon-style black & white patterns. Thanks to the LED light source, the house lights up: the windows light up, and the scene comes to life, evoking the warmth of domestic light. On the roof, a large switch in the shape of a skylight reveals the silhouette of a little man raising his hand in greeting. This white, minimalist silhouette evokes the characters that Tomas Schats portrays in his numerous sculptures and illustrations. A real springboard for the imagination, this lamp takes us back to the world of childhood and dreams. Intriguing and extravagant, this lamp diffuses a soft light with the most beautiful effect.
