A cascade of transparency… Inspired by traditional Asian arts, ranging from weaving to bamboo constructions, Ukrainian designer Kateryna Sokolova created this monumental pendant. This geometric construction, made of metal wire, plays with transparency and seems to float in weightlessness. Delicate and light despite its large dimensions, this sculptural structure is a luminous totem, a centrepiece that will dress your interior with panache. The lampshade consists of several aerial volumes that stack up to create a large openwork structure that’s incredibly well balanced. The light filters through the multitude of metal wires, producing beautiful illumination that plays with light and shadow. The light is both direct and indirect, pointed towards the floor and ceiling. Forestier, who has always developed the art of metal wire objects, pursues its ambition to create poetic objects with this new collection, combining both traditional know-how and modern technology, on the border between craftsmanship and mass production. Young Ukrainian designer Kateryna Sokolova wasted no time establishing herself as one of the most promising designers of the moment. She has already won some prestigious awards: Red Dot Design Award 2015, Industart – International Industrial Design Awards 2015.
