Spring is an adjustable pendant which changes shape and size as you like… To create the Spring pendant, Tom Dixon took inspiration from the traditional cooking whisk… The Spring lampshade is completely flexible: it is made up of a multitude of fine and supple steel strips, positioned in spirals around the light source. This construction allows for a completely surprising concept of flexibility… By adjusting the steel tether which goes through the lampshade, you can stretch the slats or, conversely, fold them. The lampshade can, as such, take on a variety of forms, becoming more or less flat or voluminous. The brightness and the effects of shadows vary depending on the opening between the strips. Depending on how the strips are positioned (close together or spaced out), you get different light effects. The light will be more or less fragmented, creating superb shadow projections… A single shade for a variety of forms and light ambiances to choose, depending on your mood! The extraordinarily airy design of Spring and its adjustable nature are the result of research on the form, volume and material. The Spring pendant has a next-gen LED disc which ensures optimal, practical lighting with no glare.
