With its soft and curved, organic shape, Melt resembles a droplet of molten glass or metal! Tom Dixon got together with the Swedish collective, Front, to create this “distorted” hanging light with a fascinating optical effect: when it is lit, Melt becomes completely hypnotic! This deformed sphere is made of an innovative material: a clever blend of polycarbonate with a few microns of copper, gold or chrome. This very special metallic finish allows Melt to change and look totally different! Indeed, when the light is off, the metallic shade is opaque and reflective. Once the light is on, the lampshade becomes translucent like glass: the material is dressed in beautiful deep reflections, playing with light, colour, transparency and depth. This lamp can be used as a ceiling light or wall light.
