“Mixing East and West, the Rituals wall lamp reinterprets the magic of Japanese paper lanterns… A challenge: translate the lightness of washi paper from oriental lanterns into glass. A real success thanks to the union of Foscarini’s experience and the skill of the Murano master glassmakers. The surface of the lampshade is decorated with horizontal lines in relief of different thicknesses. Highly decorative, these streaks also allow the light intensity to be filtered and modulated. The light filtered through the different thicknesses of glass produces a superb chiaroscuro effect. The lighting is vibrant, warm and subdued. Made of blown glass, Rituals is the result of great craftsmanship. The glass craftsman deposits a drop of glass in a mould which models the shape of the lampshade. The glass is then polished manually and treated with acid to obtain a superb frosted effect. The disc above the lampshade is made of gold metal. The My Light function lets you control and personalise your lighting through an app that can be activated and used via Bluetooth on your smartphone, tablet or your own smart device. It’s very simple to use: just activate Bluetooth on your smartphone or tablet, download the free app and switch on your MyLight. Once the light is recognised by the app, you can start switching it on and off, adjust the intensity and colour temperature, and create your own scenographies. The Timer lets you automatically activate or deactivate the scenographies, even when your smartphone or tablet is switched off.
