A graphic sign in space… This large light sculpture, resembling a black, metal mobile, can be moved around easily to direct light accurately. This sleek creation made up of elementary shapes (sphere, cone, tube) is lightweight and dynamic. At the end of the long arm is a contemporary-style lampshade in the shape of a geometric cone. The conical lampshade can be raised or lowered by moving it towards the area to be illuminated, using the long aluminium arm which rotates by means of a ring attached to the ceiling. The lampshade, which has an opaline methacrylate diffuser, provides a direct, diffuse, practical and non-dazzling light. The designer Paolo Orlandini: “I remember when I was a child, we used to build kites using bamboo canes, bits of paper and glue in our hall. This light captures some of the same simplicity and lightness as well as the childlike magic.
